We’ve got some great ideas for inexpensive family days out this summer, with our great value group tickets you can save on travel as well...

Days out in Poole, Bournemouth & surrounding areas


Tower Park – cinema complex, bowling, Splashdown. Bingo hall and plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes. Catch route 6 from Poole every 20 minutes

 

Bournemouth - Golden sand, beautiful gardens and stunning bay views - Bournemouth is the perfect destination for a day in the sun. There are some great events too. Over the summer the Bournemouth Air Festival always draws the crowds, as do weekly firework nights, candle lightings and family fiestas and these are all free! 

 
Poole – there’s plenty to do in Poole from shopping to enjoying a stroll along the Quayside, visiting the famous Poole Pottery or taking a boat trip round the harbour or over to Brownsea Island. Catch any bus headed for Poole...

         


Wimborne – A bustling market town offering everything from essential shopping to designer jewellery, antiques, collectables, clothing, shoes, Bric-a-brac, memorabilia and much more. For young visitors Model Town offers a unique experience, with is 1/10th scale models . There’s also the Minster church steeped in history and the Priests House museum.

  


Swanage – catch a Purbeck Breezer route 40 from Poole or a 50 from Bournemouth and enjoy a trip through the Purbeck countryside, Stop off on the way at Wareham, Corfe Castle , Sandbanks or Studland before travelling on to the Victorian seaside town of Swanage.

... and that’s not all if you fancy go further afield why not try these ideas...


Salisbury – with the X3 bus running from Bournemouth square every 30 mins, Salisbury is well worth a day out. There’s everything from the historic cathedral, shopping centre and great places to eat. With a group dayrider you could even stop off in Ringwood on the way!

 

You could really make a day of it in Salisbury by taking a trip on the Stonehenge Tour bus (separate fares apply) Journey back in time to discover Stonehenge, probably the most, sophisticated stone circle in the world. The tour also passes Old Sarum, a huge earthwork raised in about 500BC by Iron Age settlers.

 

 

 

St Barbe Museum, Lymington - head into Lymington on an X1 or X2 from Bournemouth and discover some of the hands on family activities and displays at the St Barbe Museum, uncover the events and people who formed the New Forest – family tickets for the museum are just £10.

New Forest Tour
While you’re in Lymington you could connect up with the New Forest Tour (separate fares apply) and discover the magical landscape of the New Forest National Park in style. With three routes to choose from you can be assured of a great day out.
