Good news! We're improving the route 10 which, from Tuesday 30th May, will also serve Wessex Gate Retail Park, Sterte and Stanley Green. This change is as a result of much customer feedback and the withdrawal of the 128 due to a cut in council funding.
The 10 will now operate within a one-directional loop in Lytchett Matravers rather than previously turning around at Glebe Road. Because the route will no longer be turning around, customers in Lytchett Matravers will need to use stops on the opposite side of the road that they are used to. There will be signage at bus stops to help notify customers of these changes.
On journeys from Poole, the 10 will enter Lytchett Matravers from Wimborne Road and take the route via Lime Kiln Road, High Street and Wareham Road as per normal. Rather than then turning round to form the inbound journey, it will then continue to the bottom of Wareham Road, turn left onto the A35, bypass the Bakers Arms and re-join the A35/A350 through Upton and back towards Poole.
Journey times from Lytchett Matravers will increase slightly by approximately six minutes but will benefit from added connections to shops, fast food outlets and other destinations.
Regular users of the 128 in Stanley Green and Sterte can now benefit from an hourly service to/from Poole Monday to Saturday rather than the previous three-times daily 128 service. Customers in Creekmoor and Waterloo can still use the 3, 4, 8, 9 and 32. The new 10 will also stop near Wessex Gate Retail Park providing a handy link to the shops and fast food outlets there.
