A mobile health facility, that travels to areas where local people sleep rough, is the latest charity to benefit from a Community Fund donation.

The HealthBus Trust provides basic healthcare, a GP service and access to addiction and mental health support services across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

The charity applied for our Community Fund for help to pay for an outreach kit for their new Engagement and Enhancement Nurse.

“Our HealthBus GP and Nurses have provided over 1,500 appointments so far this year operating three mornings a week. The new nurse will be reaching street homeless people who struggle to access mainstream services. We are delighted to use the funds to buy an essential medical kit for the new nurse,” said Kate Hibbitt from the HealthBus Trust.

“The support we receive from local companies like Morebus is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to help provide vital healthcare for people sleeping rough or who are homeless and placed in temporary emergency accommodation.”

The HealthBus Trust is a valuable local resource, dedicated to helping some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Our Community Fund is designed to support such worthy causes - and we are delighted that we have been able to help, with a donation of £250 towards a new outreach kit for a member of its team.

Our Community Fund is open to applicants in March and September.
