morebus championing the high street with BHStar Awards

We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with the BHStar awards to champion the local high street.
Being a well-established part of the community, we are keen to encourage local people to visit and experience the array of goods and services to be found within the independent and branded stores, shops and shopping centres across the county.
“BH postcode areas boast many shops and cafes that are great places to visit - both for tourists and for those lucky enough to live here,” said head of communications, Nikki Honer.
“We are sponsoring the Shopping Experience and Destination category of the BHStar Awards because we see, first hand, everything the town has to offer. Our routes across Dorset reach many of the shops and outlets here - and we want to encourage more people to explore them and see for themselves the delights available.
“Online shopping does have its place of course - but there is nothing better than having the chance to touch, feel and see up close the goods that you want to buy. It’s also a chance to meet up and socialise with others.
“According to a report by PwC and Local Data Company, 2,868 stores closed on Britain’s top 500 high streets in the first half of 2019 - the highest net decline since 2010.
“As a large but local company, we want to play our part in encouraging more people to visit the high street. We understand the importance of attracting and retaining customers. It’s about ensuring you listen to and understand the needs of those using your services or buying your goods - and responding accordingly. The BHStar Awards are an opportunity to showcase what’s on offer. I would encourage local businesses to enter this category and demonstrate their commitment to making sure the high street remains alive and kicking across the BH postcode area.”
