Breeze to Swanage Carnival by bus

Swanage Carnival is always a fun but busy event. We urge as many people as possible to leave their cars at home and go by bus and will have extra buses running throughout the carnival on busy journeys.

Don't forget, all single bus fares are just £3 and up to two under 7's travel for free with a fare paying adult. All our buses accept contactless and cash or you can of course buy your ticket on our app. If you need to get more than one bus to/from Swanage, you may be able to save with a dayrider ticket. These are also available for groups of up to five people.

Well behaved dogs are welcome on board for free - paws on the floor though please!

Please see below for information about our buses during carnival week.

Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 July:

The amazing Red Arrows will open the festival on Saturday displaying at 11:30am. The first day closes with the firework display due at 21:45.

On Sunday, our iconic open top Purbeck Breezer will take part in the carnival procession, driven by customer favourite and our employee of the year - Robbie Bartle!

  • Purbeck Breezer 50 runs every 30 minutes from Bournemouth, via Sandbanks and Studland. We will provide additional capacity with extra buses for busy journeys throughout the day.
  • Purbeck Breezer 40 runs hourly to and from Poole via Corfe and Wareham. Additional capacity will be provided throughout the day on busy journeys.
  • Jurassic Breezer 30 will be running from Weymouth, Wool and Wareham to Swanage. Please note the last Breezer 30 bus to serve Harman’s Cross and Woodyhyde leaves at 17:45

Parade Day Diversions - Sunday 27 July

  • Shore Road will be closed. Buses will divert via Seaward Road, Bonfields Avenue and Northbrook Road to and from Swanage Railway Station.
  • Between 12:00-18:00 whilst the carnival takes place, buses will also not stop at Rempstone Road.
  • Additionally, between 12:00-18:00, the main Swanage Bus Station stops will be closed. All buses on all routes will depart from the bus parking area adjacent to the railway line. This is accessed by footpath alongside the Co-op car park which will be signposted. There will also be additional staff on hand around the Bus Station to help with enquiries and directions. Please follow these directions to board your bus during this time. Pedestrian access to the bus parking area via the road entrance on Kings Road West is strictly prohibited.
  • This will affect Breezer routes 30, 35, 40 and 50.

Diversions and extra info during carnival week:

When Shore Road is closed, the Purbeck Breezer 50 will divert via Seaward Road and De Moulham Road to and from Swanage Railway Station. This means the stops along Shore Road, namely Crows Nest Inn, Ivy Cottage and Banjo Pier, cannot be used.

You can plan your journey here but we recommend you download the Morebus app to buy tickets, track buses and plan your journey.
