Charity supporting vulnerable women in Poole receives gift from our community fund
2 months ago
A local charity, providing support to vulnerable women who feel isolated following mental health and life setbacks, has received a boost from Morebus.
I Am Confident, based at Gateway Church in Poole, runs weekly sessions to help participants reset many areas of their lives. It partners with local community groups to reach vulnerable women - helping them discuss issues like worry, eating habits, exercise, negative thought patterns and well-being goals.
“Our aim is to provide hope, rebuild confidence, and help these vulnerable women feel they have a purpose - so they can connect to their local community and start again,” said Hayley Stephens, Co-Founder of I Am Confident.
“It’s vitally important for us to raise the profile of our sessions within our local area. We turned to Morebus’ community fund to help us do that - and we were delighted to receive a donation £400.
“We’d like to thank Morebus for this gift, which will ensure we can reach more women at a time when they are in desperate need of our support.”
Richard Wade, Morebus general manager, added: “I am Confident provides a crucial service for women living across Poole - and it is exactly the type of good cause our community fund is designed to support.
“Mental health is an issue that can affect anyone at anytime, and it is important that there are charities - for men and for women - ready to provide help when people are feeling at their lowest ebb.
“We welcome future community fund applications from any such charities and organisations within the BCP area.”
