Christchurch Road Closure from 28th February - 9th March

From Monday 28th February - Wednesday 9th March, Christchurch Road is undergoing resurfacing works, which means that the M2 and U3 will be affected by diversions. There will be multiple diversions across the period:

Phase One: Monday 28th February - Tuesday 1st March

• The M2 towards Southbourne will divert after Centenary Way through Boscombe Bus Station and will resume its normal route from stops in Christchurch Road.
• The U3 towards Southbourne will divert from Ashley Road through Boscombe Bus Station and will resume the route as normal.
• The M2 towards Bournemouth will divert from Christchurch Road to Crabton Close Road, Hawkwood Road, Sea Road, St John’s Road, and back onto Christchurch Road where it will continue the usual route.
• The U3 towards Bournemouth University will divert as per the M2 to St John’s Road then ahead onto The Crescent, Christchurch Road, Palmerston Road, Centenary Way, and Ashley Road where it will resume its normal route.

Phase Two: Wednesday 2nd March - Saturday 5th March

• The M2 towards Southbourne will divert onto St John’s Road, Sea Road, Hawkwood Road,  Crabton Close Road, Beechwood Avenue, and Chessel Avenue, before returning to Christchurch Road.
• The U3 towards Southbourne will divert from Ashley Road onto Centenary Way,  Palmerston Road, Christchurch Road, St John’s Road and then as per the M2.
• The M2 towards Bournemouth will divert from Christchurch Road into Chessel Avenue, Browning Avenue, Beechwood Avenue, Crabton Close Road, Westby Road, Heathcote Road, Hawkwood Road, Sea Road, and St John’s Road before returning to Christchurch Road and resuming the usual route.
• The U3 towards Bournemouth University will divert from Christchurch Road to St John’s Road, The Crescent, back onto Christchurch Road, then to Palmerston Road, Centenary Way, and Ashley Road before returning to the normal route.

Phase Three: Sunday 6th March - Wednesday 9th March

• The M2 towards Southbourne will divert into St John’s Road, Sea Road, Hawkwood Road, Crabton Close Road, Beechwood Avenue, Chessel Avenue, and right onto Christchurch Road.
• The U3 towards Southbourne will divert from Ashley Road to Centenary Way, Palmerston Road, Christchurch Road, St John’s Road and then will follow the route as per M2.
• The M2 and U3 towards Bournemouth and Bournemouth University will divert from Christchurch Road into Chessel Avenue, Browning Avenue, Beechwood Avenue, Crabton Close Road, Westby Road, and Heathcote Road before resuming normal route at Ashley Road.
