Morebus names Dorset Mind as its Charity of the Year for 2022

We are delighted to announce that we will be giving our support to Dorset Mind as our Charity of the Year for 2022.

We will spend the year raising funds and awareness to help Dorset Mind to continue to provide a range of services and support for people living across the county.

Dorset Mind challenges mental health stigma and encourages recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience. Those living within our local community have relied upon the charity’s support even more over the past two years, and I’m delighted we will be raising as much money as possible to help this vital resource.

The decision to make Dorset Mind our corporate charity was made by colleagues, who collectively nominated and voted. Mental health can affect people from all walks of life, at any time, and the team here at morebus understands just how important it is to have support in place for anyone who needs it.

To start this new relationship, we will be covering the rear of one of our buses with Dorset Mind’s branding, and we are offering the charity the opportunity to use some cove panels on-board the bus to help raise awareness of the wonderful work they do across our region - which we know many of our customers will benefit from.

Dorset Mind’s one-to-one and group support includes counselling, mentoring, support groups, active monitoring and a befriending service. These help people regain social skills and develop confidence. The charity also delivers educational wellbeing programmes for schools and workplaces - and provides volunteer opportunities across all areas of the organisation. 

Dee Swinton, Dorset Mind’s income generation and marketing manager added: ‘We are very much looking forward to building a strong partnership with Morebus – it’s a great opportunity for us to raise awareness about mental health and the wide range of 1-2-1 and group support, education, training and volunteer opportunities we offer young people (age 11+) and adults across Dorset. We’re thrilled this important local employer has chosen to support us this year.”
