Happy International Women's Day!

We are marking International Women’s Day by celebrating the work and careers of some of our rising stars. We are proud of our diverse workforce, and we are actively encouraging more women to build successful careers within the transport industry.

Our managing director Andrew Wickham has said “in the past, our industry has been largely dominated by men, but that is fast changing, as we look to recruit the very best talent – gender just doesn’t come into that decision process.

Anyone who would like to join our team can choose from a wide range of roles – from drivers to working in marketing or engineering and operations. Each of these positions offers its own mix of challenges and rewards.

In 2017, 48 women worked for us in a variety of roles. In 2023, this figure has increased to 74 – a 54 percent increase! This is such a positive change for us and shows some great change within the industry.

One of our drivers, Chantal Pye who joined the company in 2019 is celebrating International Women’s Day with some of her other colleagues. She has noticed a change in attitude towards women bus drivers – not just among colleagues but passengers too. “I’m happy to see the number of female colleagues has increased by so many over recent years. In the end, though, it’s how you do your job that’s the most important thing – not what gender you are.”
