We are calling on local young people in the so-called ‘lost generation’ to consider a steady job within the bus industry.
Reports suggest that a reduction in starter jobs, apprenticeships, and entry-level training is making it incredibly difficult for young people to get a first foot on the job ladder. However, in complete contrast, we are more than happy to recruit and train those who are aged 18 and above who already have a car driving licence, just so long as they have a bit of experience on the road.
This is an opportunity for new joiners to be paid from day one whilst they are training, and gain a professional qualification in the process. Once you have passed your Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) test and have become familiar with our bus routes - usually after seven weeks - you will earn a competitive hourly wage with enhanced overtime and weekend rates. Plus, you will be weekly paid which many young people find easier when managing personal budgets.
What we don’t do, is screen job applications with automated recruitment algorithms or AI. Each application is viewed by a real person and is judged on its individual merits.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), there were more than one million young people classed at Neet between January and March 2026.
We want to play our small part in reducing this number, and urge anyone keen to find out more about working for more bus to apply today!
- You must be aged 18+
- You must have a full UK car licence with on the road driving experience
- You must want to train for a professional qualification whilst getting paid!
- You will be open to working a variety of shifts
- You will enjoy being paid weekly

Hear from some of our young people:
Nick age 20: “I trained at college to work in hospitality and catering which I did for a while, but I didn’t get much of a social life. I have been a bus driver for morebus now just over a year, I have more freedom and I love meeting new people.”
Chloe age 21: “I had applied for lots of jobs online and wasn’t even getting any responses, which was very disheartening, as I want to work. I was delighted when I got an interview with morebus and excited to start my career with them, working a variety of shifts”
Dominik age 20: “I had been working in a warehouse for the last two years, but I like driving and I already had customer service skills, so felt that bus driving would be a great job for me. It’s better money too!”
