Boost for local children’s hospice Julia's House as Morebus makes £23,000 lump sum donation
We have long been a supporter of the charity and are donating £23,000 towards the services it provides for families caring for seriously ill children.
“Julia’s House provides many families in Dorset and Wiltshire with much-needed support - and we are keen to assist this vital community resource in any way we can,” said Nikki Honer, Head of Communications.
“We know the hospice’s excellent team will put the funds to very good use, caring for people who live across our region, at a time when they need it most.”
Julia’s House, in Corfe Mullen, has a dedicated team of nurses and carers, supporting parents and siblings by providing respite care, both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.
The donation will partly go towards The Great Tail Trail. The giant mermaid tail sculptures will be on display next spring, across the BCP area, with proceeds raising vital funds to help Julia’s House care for seriously ill children.
Some of the donation will also support Julia’s House's Complementary Therapy, which is used alongside conventional medical treatment to help people feel better - physically, emotionally and mentally. The hospice’s therapists’ wide range of treatments help family members relax and unwind.
Laura Maidment, Public Fundraising Manger for Julia's House, said, "We are so grateful to Morebus for their incredibly generous donation. It's wonderful to have them on board as a sponsor for The Great Tail Trail, which will be a really exciting event that everyone can enjoy for free next spring. The donation will also directly help the families and children that we care for, by enabling more of them to benefit from a range of complementary therapies that will support them physically and mentally."
