We are proud to be backing Leaf - Leukaemia Educating and Fundraising - by naming the Wimborne-based blood cancer charity as our official good cause and charity of the year for 2020.

We will spend the year working closely with Natasha Hunt and her team in raising funds and awareness to help Leaf provide a range of services to support patients and families of patients in Dorset and Hampshire who are diagnosed with the disease.

“Leaf is crucial to many local people and their families in the areas where we operate bus services - and we are keen to support this vital community resource in any way we can,” said morebus Assistant Marketing Manager, Joe Quinlan.

“The charity provides social and welfare support to ease the huge burden placed on families with a patient in treatment - and this is of enormous benefit to many people living in the area.

“One of our own colleagues, bus driver Wayne Bowld. suffered a rare condition - Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia - fairly recently but I am delighted to say he has now made a full recovery. Leukaemia affects so many people. Leaf is a wonderful charity, and our team is determined to do everything possible over the coming year to help it carry out its vital work.”

Leaf founder, Natasha Hunt, was herself diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia shortly after giving birth to her second child. “In August 2009, I was extremely lucky to have been given the all clear,” she said. “I set up Leaf because I wanted to support other patients and families who find themselves in the position that I was in. I feel very grateful to be alive, and I want to give other sufferers hope.

“On behalf of the charity and those we help, I would like thank everyone at Morebus for their support. We look forward to continuing this very positive partnership over the course of the next 12 months.”
