Lewis-Manning Hospice Care given morebus Community Fund boost
1 month ago
We paid a visit to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care's new HQ this week - with a contribution of £100 from our Community Fund.
The charity is a voluntary hospice, offering extraordinary hospice care to the people of Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset, who are living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
“We feel it is hugely important to support charities, schools and other organisations who make a difference to those living in local areas where we run bus services - and Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is a wonderful example of this,” said our Assistant Marketing Manager, Joe Quinlan.
“The team here does incredible work to help create the best possible experience for patients and their families, at a desperately difficult and challenging time in their lives.
“I’m delighted we are able to support this very worthy cause, by making a donation of £100 from our Community Fund. It will be used to help the ongoing development costs of new services and the hospice’s new location on Longfleet Road in central Poole - which is serviced by many of our buses.”
Director of Fundraising, Tom Goodinge of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care added: “Thank you Morebus for kindly donating to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. It costs nearly £1.3 million to run our charitable Hospice each year and we receive just 20% of our income from the NHS. In order to help us to deliver our new plans we rely on our wonderful community and local companies to help us raise the funds we need so that we can keep helping local patients and their families both now and in the future.”
Our Community Fund is open for applications from charities, sports teams and schools throughout the year - with funding and support donated during two specific months. The next round of donations will take place in March 2020. Find out more about the morebus Community Fund.
