Morebus is gearing up for a weekend of fundraising for Poole Hospital Charity, when the town’s Poole Festival of Running takes place.

We are once again offering discounted travel those taking part in the event - with many of those taking part planning to raise much-needed funds through sponsorship.

All participants will be able to travel with Morebus for the cost of a child ticket on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June if they show drivers their proof of entry.

“We’ve been supporting Poole Hospital Charity over recent years,” said Nikki Honer, head of communications at Morebus. “It’s a crucial local resource, helping to pay for additional equipment, research and innovations - as well as finishing touches and ‘extras’ that complement the existing high quality care for patients in-and-around the town.

“Poole Festival of Running is an opportunity for people to raise lots of money for the charity, and we’d like to see the event running as smoothly as possible. With that in mind, we’re encouraging people to leave their cars at home and take the bus to help ease congestion on what promises to be a very busy weekend.

“We’d like to wish everyone involved the very best of luck for a successful event - whether they are participating or part of the organising team.”

James Skipworth, from Poole Festival of Running, added: “We are doing our best to ensure this is an environmentally-friendly event, so Morebus offering discounted travel is a big help towards encouraging more people to leave their cars at home.”
