Brand new buses on route 13
We are proud to be continuing our investment in new transport for the region by introducing five brand new double decker buses to the route 13 Bournemouth to Wimborne service.
The announcement follows the introduction of a fleet of 41 single decker buses for our m1 and m2 routes - and underlines our commitment to running the latest new bus technology across the region and encouraging people to choose a more sustainable way to travel.
To celebrate the announcement, we are launching a fun day on Saturday 12th October in Wimborne Square to show off our brand new vehicles. Come along between 10am and 2pm for some spin to win fun with plenty of prizes to be won!
“Bus travel in Dorset is popular - and I’m delighted that we have been able to invest £8 million in our Morebus fleet during recent years,” said our managing director, Andrew Wickham.
“We would not have been able to embark on this commercial venture if it weren’t for the high demand we’ve been experiencing here - so it’s a tremendous sign that people in the region value our services.
“These new British-built ADL Enviro 400 City double deckers have luxury seats, as well as tables upstairs - giving our customers extra space in which to work or to chill out. They are also equipped with USB chargers for smart devices, along with contactless ticketing for extra convenience.
“Just as important are the low emissions Euro 6 engines - which are kinder to the environment than those found in the very latest diesel cars.
“Our aim is to make bus travel even more attractive to those living and working here - encouraging them to leave their cars at home. We are already seeing an increase in the number of passenger journeys in the region - and these new buses will hopefully play a part in helping reduce congestion in Bournemouth."
Route 13 operates from Bournemouth to Wimborne via Winton, Ferndown and Colehill. It runs every 30 minutes - with a slight change to the timetable from Sunday 22 September to improve reliability, affected by A338 roadworks.
The new buses will begin to enter service during September.
