We have just celebrated two years of fundraising for our corporate charity of 2022 and 2023, with a total of £3596 raised for Dorset Mind.

We have been throwing its support behind Dorset Mind by raising funds and creating awareness to help the mental health charity provide a range of services to people living across the county.

“Dorset Mind challenges mental health stigma and encourages recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience,” said Morebus general manager, Richard Wade.

“Those living within our local community have relied upon the charity’s support even more over recent years, and I’m delighted my colleagues have been able to raise almost £3600 to help this vital resource.

“My colleagues took the decision to make Dorset Mind our corporate charity because mental health can affect people from all walks of life, at any time. They understand just how important it is to have support in place for anyone who needs it.

“They have made a superb effort over the past two years - raising money through many different activities - and I know this donation will be put to very good use.”

Dorset Mind’s one-to-one and group support includes counselling, mentoring, support groups, active monitoring and a befriending service. These help people regain social skills and develop confidence. The charity also delivers educational wellbeing programmes for schools and workplaces - and provides volunteer opportunities across all areas of the organisation.

Linda O'Sullivan, Dorset Mind's CEO added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Morebus for their fundraising efforts, as our charity partner for the last two years. The support of local businesses not only ensures essential funds for vital service provision but also supports our vision of creating a community where living with and talking about mental health becomes acceptable for everyone.

“The amount raised could pay for 240 sessions for people who are struggling with isolation or loneliness due to a mental health condition such as anxiety or depression. It will help many people in our local community who need some extra support.”

We will spend the next two years fundraising for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, who we have named as our corporate charity for 2024 and 2025.
