We are working with Tricuro’s Community Outreach Support Team (COAST) in Poole to help provide travel training for local people who have a long-term health condition or a disability to gain and sustain work.

We will provide bus passes so COAST’s community support workers and employment support coordinators can prepare vulnerable members of the community for workplace opportunities.

“COAST does an excellent job, making sure more people in the region have the chance to take employment - and travelling independently on public transport is an important part of that,” said Richard Wade, Morebus general manager.

“Through our community fund, we are pleased to be able to support COAST in its very worthwhile activities by providing free travel for its trainers.”

Bianca Rose, day opportunities manager for COAST, added: “It’s great to see the people we work with gain independence and feel more confident when catching the bus, which is key to enable individuals to be able to travel safely to and from work opportunities within the BCP area.

“The team supports individuals to identify which buses to take on their journey, safe places to wait, how to board buses safely, use their bus passes, how to depart the bus and recognise destination landmarks. It’s very rewarding to see individuals grow in confidence and be able to travel safely and independently – which enables individuals to make the very best of any work opportunities available. The help we receive from Morebus’ community fund is absolutely invaluable.”
