Head to Planet Wimborne by bus this October

We have teamed up with Planet Wimborne, to help ensure local people and visitors can travel to the forthcoming Green Festival in a sustainable way.

As official travel partner of the festival, we would like to urge those attending to sit back and let our drivers transport them to the host of activities - due to take place in-and-around the town between Saturday 12 October and Saturday 19 October.

Wimborne’s annual Green Festival offers something for everyone, with a host of environmental activities - from the Minster Fair on the first Saturday to craft workshops and talks spread throughout the week. You can view their brochure here.

“As the region’s primary bus operator, we are committed to helping reduce congestion and improve air quality here,” said Morebus general manager, Richard Wade. “So we are delighted to be the Green Festival’s official travel partner.

“Our team will be in Wimborne Square on 12 October to support the event, and we’ll be standing by to offer travel advice to those wishing to leave their cars at home and travel by bus instead.

“Just one fully-loaded double decker bus has the potential to take up to 75 cars off our roads, so we are pleased to be showing our support for Planet Wimborne and this exciting event.

“The festival itself is free to attend, and Morebus is offering 10 percent off an AB or ABC dayrider bus ticket for single use during the week. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this offer can do so by simply entering the code PLANET2024 when using our app.

“Those wishing to travel sustainably will find plenty of Morebus services ready to take them to the festival’s events, and we’re looking forward to welcoming them on-board.”

Linda Bunting, chair of Planet Wimborne Green Festival, added: “We’re delighted to have added the Green Transport Hub to our events this year, in response to feedback from a member of the public at last year’s festival. We are well aware that Wimborne suffers from traffic congestion and so people's health will be poorly affected by air pollution. We believe making it easier for people to enjoy our town by foot, bike or bus will contribute to a vibrant and healthier town. We are even more delighted that Morebus is our official travel partner for the whole Festival.
