Poole Christmas Maritime Light Festival
We have teamed up with organisers of the brand new Poole Christmas Light Maritime festival, to help ensure local people and visitors can reach this exciting free event with the minimum of fuss.
More bus is the official transport partner of the festival, and we are urging those attending to sit back and let our drivers transport you and your family and friends to the fun and festivities.
Celebrating Poole’s rich heritage, the spectacular six-week event promises to bring plenty of festive cheer to everyone.
We’re excited that people are in for such a treat in Poole this holiday season, but we’re also very conscious that congestion is likely to increase, with so many expected to attend, car parks are likely to be very busy too, so we’re recommending that people choose the bus when travelling to Poole Christmas Light Maritime Festival. In doing so, you can save petrol, help reduce congestion, and of course not have to worry about finding an expensive parking space, and help the environment at the same time.
As the area’s main bus operator, we’ve made it easier than ever for people to plan their journeys and buy tickets - thanks to our app. Our M1 and M2 buses run every three minutes - so those travelling with us will always have easy access to transport for the event and these buses really are the best way to travel between Bournemouth and Poole. Or for those coming into town on a less frequent route, buses can be tracked in live times so there is no need to wait at a bus stop for too long.
Travel for free by entering our facebook competition
Every Friday over the course of the festival, we’re giving away a group bus ticket, valid for any five people. This is great for family and friends who’d like to travel together and spend time at the many events on offer. Anyone wishing to be in with a chance of winning can do so via our Facebook page.
Reduced price zone A group tickets in December - five travel for just £5!
This fantastic offer, is available all day on Saturdays, Sundays and after 1730 on Thursdays in December before Christmas (Saturday/Sundays 3,4,10,11,17,18,24 December plus Thursdays after 1730 on 1,8,15,22 December).
And it’s not only Poole that is expecting crowds this November and December. Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland is always a huge attraction, and we know this will bring increased congestion across the town. More bus now runs lots of extra bus services in Bournemouth making bus travel simple. All buses accept app tickets, or tap on tap off paperless ticketing. If you are travelling with friends and family our group tickets are best value. Plan your journey here
If more people choose sustainable transport, the number of cars on our roads will decrease dramatically. Our buses and drivers are standing by, ready to transport our customers across Poole and Bournemouth to these magical shows - making this the best year ever for people to enjoy festive events across our area.”
