Showing our support for Remembrance
We are showing our support for the Royal British Legion - with our bus drivers wearing poppies throughout the period of Remembrance.
“People across this region are rightly proud of our country’s military - as is the team here at Morebus,” said Morebus managing director, Andrew Wickham. “As part of this community, we are keen to show our support for all those in the services.
“We are providing all our drivers and other team members with a poppy to wear, if they wish to do so. For each of these, we will be making a donation to the Royal British Legion.
“The work our troops do and have done, in often unimaginably hostile war zones, is incredibly humbling. And we hope, by proudly displaying our poppies and raising awareness for this worthwhile cause, we’re backing our words with actions."
Our drivers will also be pulling over, if it is safe to do so, at 11am on Sunday 10 November for Remembrance Sunday and at 11am on Monday 11 for Armistice Day, as a mark of respect to observe the two minutes’ silence.
We are also offering free travel all day - on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day - for UK Armed Forces veterans and those who are currently serving. We hope this will allow them to travel to events or see family and friends.
All they need to do is display their medals or show their military ID card when boarding our buses.
The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s annual fundraising initiative, starting in late October and running through to Armistice Day on 11 November.
