This year’s summer fireworks events in Bournemouth and Poole are set to be more popular than ever - with thousands expected to attend the free events throughout July and August.

We are urging those attending to leave their cars at home and travel by bus instead.

The roads in-and-around the locations of these popular Thursday and Friday events are likely to be incredibly congested - with many wanting to enjoy the free entertainment on offer.

“Our buses are ready-and-waiting to take people right into the centre of the action - with routes accessible from areas right across the two towns. And, with the £2 fare cap for single journeys still in place until at least 31 October 2023, we are encouraging as many people as possible to travel with us and beat the congestion on the road network and in the car parks,” said our general manager, Richard Wade.

Bournemouth’s firework events are running on the seafront Fridays 4, 11, 18 and 25 August, whilst Poole’s will take place on Poole Quay Thursdays 27 July, 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 August.

“These are spectacular displays that will start people’s weekends off with a bang, and we will be running extra buses to help us keep up with demand,” added Richard.

“Our team is standing by to ensure those visiting the events can do so easily and in comfort, safe in the knowledge that they can enjoy themselves without having to worry about driving and finding a parking space.”
