Upton Road closure to affect routes 3, 9, 10, 40 & 448

We’d like to let you know about some upcoming road closures and how they will affect bus services in the area over the next few weeks.

Upton Road Closure

Upton Road (towards Creekmoor from Fleetsbridge Roundabout) will remain closed until mid-February, with works currently expected to finish on 20 February. Route 3 is already on diversion because of this closure.

From Monday 12 January, further works will begin at Upton Country Park. This will mean the westbound off-slip from the A350, and the road underneath the A350, will be closed. Because of this, the current diversion for Route 3 will become too long and will need to change.

From 12 January until Upton Road reopens, Route 3 will divert by following Route 4 via Waterloo Road and Sopers Lane. Unfortunately, this diversion means Creekmoor will not be served by Route 3 during this time.

Free Shuttle Bus for Creekmoor

To make sure Creekmoor residents can still travel northbound, we will be running a FREE shuttle bus.

The shuttle is numbered 3b and will operate from Creekmoor Lane Roundabout to Broadstone via Waterloo Estate in this direction only. When heading in the direction of Poole the 3 and 4 will continue to run to normal route and there will be no shuttle bus. This is why the shuttle bus is only running in one direction.

Poole Road Closure

During this period, Poole Road will also be closed westbound meaning routes 9, 10, 40 and 448 will have to divert.

Route 9 will divert via the A35, exits at Upton Roundabout, then uses Blandford Road North to re-join its normal route at the double mini roundabouts.

Route 10 will leave the A35 at Upton Roundabout and follows route 40 to the Bakers Arms via Dorchester Road.

Routes 40 & 448 divert off the A35 at Upton Roundabout, use Blandford Road North, and rejoin their normal routes at the double mini roundabouts.
