Swanage
Still has that traditional seaside feel, where Punch and Judy can be watched on the beach, sandcastles dug, and sun loungers hired. Experience a trip on the traditional Swanage steam railway, or take a walk up to Durlston Country Park and continue exploring the Isle of Purbeck. We also think there are some of the best local fish and chip shops around.
Corfe Castle
In our opinion from the top deck of a bus, this is a real WOW moment! The breathtaking outline of the fairy-tale ruins of the castle appears into view as you glimpse towards the village of Corfe. The castle played a historical role dating back to William the Conqueror’s day. Corfe is a quaint village with many local pubs and cafes to enjoy.
The castle is owned by the National Trust and entrance charges do apply.
Wareham
A pretty riverside town with quayside restaurants, cafes and a museum. Market stalls can be found there on a Saturday too and a trip can be taken along the river by boat.
Lulworth Cove
Is part of the famous Jurassic coastline. It has a unique geology and welcomes many thousands of visitors each year. For those that enjoy a ramble you can walk over the hillside to reach the stunning arch of Durdle Door, or indeed hop back on the bus to experience your next stop!
Durdle Door
It’s probably Dorset’s most famous landmark and a photo opportunity not to be missed during your stay in Dorset. In fact, it is one of the world’s most famous limestone arches. The car parks get very busy so going to this historic site by bus is a great opportunity.
Weymouth
A popular Dorset seaside town with a stunning beach ideal for sandcastles and home to one of the UK’s best sand sculpture builders. You can still enjoy a traditional show at the Weymouth Pavilion, a donkey ride along the beach or for those seeking a bigger thrill there are several fun fair rides too. Easily connected to the town centre where you will find lots of lovely places to eat and drink.
