This year, we will be supporting Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington as they bid to raise money at their annual fundraising event. We want to encourage local residents to take part and collect as much money as possible for this important local resource.

Oakhaven Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support to those facing life-limiting illness and their loved ones in both a home and hospice setting. Its team of specialist Oakhaven nurses, doctors, counsellors and physiotherapists ease physical symptoms and offer psychological, spiritual and social support.

The walk will be taking place on Saturday 20 May and participants have a choice of three different routes - from Sandbanks, Mudeford or Barton-on-Sea. Each route finishes at the hospice in Lymington where our X1 and X2 services run on a Saturday alongside our sister company's Bluestar 6 from Southampton. You can travel by bus to the walk using the following services:

Sandbanks to Oakhaven

Bluestar 6 - Southampton to Lymington (walk organisers are offering a ticketed coach service from Oakhaven Hospice to start point at Sandbanks)

To Sandbanks

Breezer 60 - Rockley Park to Sandbanks via Poole Bus Station

Breezer 50 - Bournemouth to Sandbanks

Breezer 50 – Swanage to Sandbanks via Studland

Mudeford to Oakhaven

X1 - Bournemouth to Lymington via Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Christchurch, Highcliffe, Barton on Sea, New Milton, Milford on Sea and Everton.

X2 - Bournemouth to Lymington via Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Christchurch, Highcliffe, Walkford, New Milton, Hordle, Pennington.

Barton on Sea to Oakhaven

Several of our colleagues, who work at the Lymington or Ringwood depots, live in this region so this cause means a lot to us.

The walk takes in the beautiful coastal paths that run between Sandbanks and Oakhaven with each and every step helping to raise funds to support patients and their loved ones facing end of life in our community.

The £2 fare cap initiative is still in place so this is an excellent opportunity to use sustainable transport on the day. You can also use our Journey Planner to plan your route to the event.
